Vici Innovational Research Incentives Scheme
If you are a senior researcher who wants to apply for the Innovational Research Incentives Scheme Vici 2017, then you have to send in a pre-proposal before March 23. The grant can be up to €1,5M. Your proposal will be assessed on:

- Your quality
- The quality, innovative character and academic impact of the research proposal
- Your knowledge utilisation

 


NWO KIEM scheme
Are you a senior researcher working in the humanities, astronomy, computer sciences, physics or chemistry? Are you interested in setting up or expanding a collaboration with a company or a museum? H2020 calls: Secure societies and cybersecurity
On March 1, two Cybersecurity PPP calls will open in the Horizon 2020 Secure Societies Programme. The two topics are:
- Addressing Advanced Cyber Security Threats and Threat Actors,
- Privacy, Data Protection, Digital Identities.

The calls are for Innovational Actions with a deadline of  August 24. 

With the same opening date and deadline several calls will open in the area of Security. A few of the topics:
Technologies for prevention, investigation, and mitigation in the context of fight against crime and terrorism,
- Toolkits integrating tools and techniques for forensic Laboratories,
- Architectures and organizations, big data and data analytics for customs risk management of the international goods supply chain trade movements
- Pan European Networks of practitioners and other actors in the field of security


Opportunities for ninety foreign leading fellows
The LEaDing Fellows Programme provides ninety postdoctoral researchers from all over the world, who recently obtained a PhD, the opportunity to gain two years’ work experience in the challenging, internationally acclaimed and multidisciplinary environment offered by Leiden University, Leiden University Medical Center, Erasmus University Rotterdam, Erasmus Medical Centre and Delft University of Technology.

The first of three calls opens on February 1, 2017 for two years appointments between November 2017 and April 2020. Deadline for applications will be March 31, 2017. 

The Luris Grant Development team organises a webinar on LEaDing Fellow on March 17 (3pm-5pm, UTC+1). where we will discuss each section of the proposal and provide you with tips and tricks on how to write an excellent proposal. There will also be ample room for questions. Please register for the webinar by sending an e-mail to events@luris.nl.


H2020 programme Science with and for Society
The aim of the Horizon 2020 programme Science with and for Society is to build effective cooperation between the two, to recruit new talent for science and to pair scientific excellence with social awareness and responsibility.

A few of the topics in the next call, opening April 12, are:
- Support to research organisations to implement gender equality plans (Coordination and Support Action), 
- Putting Open Science into action (Research and Innovation Action)
- Science4Refugees - Support to highly skilled refugee scientists (Coordination and Support Action).

Many researchers still go it alone in preparing grant applications, but the funding landscape has changed.’ A recent Nature article discusses the benefits of professional support in writing a research grant.
