Celebrating the European Research Council’s 10th anniversary

It has been ten years since the European Research Council (ERC) was established in 2007. The ERC is currently awarding projects through Horizon 2020, the EU’s programme for funding research and innovation. Leiden University and LUMC academics have been actively engaged and successful in this programme since the beginning, having obtained over 60 awards with an value of over 100M Euro during these past ten years.

New applicants ERC welcome

Leiden University and LUMC are delighted to invite you to this event to celebrate 10 years of the ERC and the success of Leiden academics in the programme. We like to honour all Leiden ERC grantees.

We warmly welcome all those who would like to apply for an ERC Starting, Consolidator or Advanced Grants to come along to the event to hear about the different schemes and meet grantholders.

13.00 – 14.30 Q&A session with grantholders

A Leiden Success story: NEXUS1492 - Caribbean encounters with a globalizing world

The highest value project is an ERC Synergy Grant awarded in 2013 called NEXUS1492: Caribbean encounters with a globalizing world which was led by Prof.dr. Corinne Hofman, Faculty of Archaeology.

The total project value is 14.8MEuro of which Leiden was awarded 9.2MEuro. Click here for a short video on the project.
